Michigan Spearfishing

Experience underwater spearfishing on the Great Lakes. With over 50 million acers of water to explore! Explore shipwrecks ranging from old wooden schooners to large modern ocean going freighters and unique underwater structure for an unforgettable fishing experience. We travel around the Great Lakes throughout the season following the fish, water conditions, and weather. 

  

Species include Northern Pike (after July 1st), Walleye, Lake Trout, Bowfin, Bullheads, Burbot, Carp, Catfish, Cisco, Drum, Gizzard Shad, Goldfish, Grass Carp, Longnose Gar, Smelt, Suckers, and Whitefish. (underlined fish are our favorite to eat.)

  

Trips are a full day, departing the dock at 9am and divers getting out of the water at 5pm, with a maximum of four experienced speros to ensure safety and quality time in the water. Spearguns are included, we run Aquila spearguns. Equipment rental is available for an additional fee ($75 for wetsuits and diving gear.) If weather is not offering ideal diving conditions I will reach out to you about going to a different port or rescheduling.

Tawas (rock reefs, weeds, manmade structure 10-30' dives)

Port Austin/Northern Thumb (glacial rocks, shipwrecks, break walls 10-50' dives)

Port Huron/Southern Thumb (Current, shipwrecks, manmade structure, rock reefs 10-50' dives)

Alpena/Harrisville (weeds, rock reefs, islands, glacial rocks, many shipwrecks10-80' dives)

Lake Michigan Ports (reefs, break walls, shipwrecks, 20-60' dives, islands in Glen Arbor)

Upper Peninsula (Amazing structure and visibility, islands, shipwrecks, Lake Trout heaven!)
