If doing a spearfishing trip bring appropriate gear, it is up to the individual to bring all gear needed, I will gladly talk you through what you need, where to get it, or provide it for you if you let me know more than 48 hours in advance. I understand gear breaks and I will have some extras on the boat. I will provide mask defogger. I cannot stress this enough you must reach out to me with what you may need when you book the trip.

What you need to know for a Spearfishing trip.
We offer many services and can accommodate many locations. Equipment rental is available but is limited. Dive shops offer a wider range of equipment but may not have the right equipment to make your day enjoyable. It is highly recommended to let me know what equipment you have and what equipment you need (include the size) before you go and rent equipment. A 5mm wetsuit is recommended. Spearguns are dangerous and will be treated like any other firearm. Any dangerous acts will result in an ended charter with no refund. It is illegal in Michigan to bring a speargun with bands loaded onto the boat. Pole-spears are always welcomed on the boat
It is highly recommended that divers complete a freediving class prior to any charter, but it is not required. For new divers it is imperative you can "equalize your ears." If you need help there are some amazing Youtube videos that go into detail how to do this. Without being able to do this you will not be able to dive.
I cannot and will not teach you how to swim, you must be able to swim in open water. Any new divers will be taught basics of spearfishing (I am not a certified freediving instructor) and we might spend most if not all of the day teaching and educating on how to spearfish safely. Please keep that in mind for expectations of the day as a first time diver. New divers will be limited to 2 and will only be taken out on an Intro to spearfishing trip. Spearfishing is not something you can jump into the water and do without training.
Safety is uppermost importance. Diving with a buddy is mandatory as well as one up one down. I am excited to take new spearfisherman out and will make your day as fun as possible.
Any spearfishing trip can be switched at any time to trolling if you find that spearfishing is not for you, as the gear will always be in the boat. There will have to be unanimous decision with the others on the boat to switch to rod and reel.
Any questions please reach out.
